SEDEX 2026 Opens October 14: A Semiconductor Buyer’s Guide to COEX

SEDEX 2026 runs October 14–16 at COEX. Check on-site admission, exhibition hours and practical questions for semiconductor equipment, materials and component suppliers.

SEDEX 2026 opens October 14 at COEX in Seoul, bringing semiconductor devices, manufacturing equipment, materials and supporting technologies together for a three-day exhibition. Organized by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA), the event runs through October 16 in Halls C and D.

For overseas purchasing and engineering teams, the immediate task is to turn the exhibitor list into a focused set of meetings. The organizer’s October 12 preregistration deadline has passed; its visitor guide lists on-site registration and a KRW 20,000 admission ticket.

Key developments: a supply-chain exhibition, not only a chip showcase

The official product categories extend beyond semiconductor devices. They cover process and assembly equipment, test and measurement systems, factory facilities, materials, components, and software. This breadth gives buyers a reason to separate their visit by the operational problem they need to solve.

The current exhibitor directory provides concrete examples. Acroedge lists non-contact measurement and evaluation systems for semiconductor, electronic-material and display applications. AIRUNIT lists compact dust collection and fume extraction for semiconductor processes. A-PRO SEMICON identifies GaN epiwafers among its exhibits. These are directory descriptions, useful for identifying relevant conversations before checking detailed specifications with each company.

Background: where SEDEX fits into an overseas sourcing visit

SEDEX focuses on the semiconductor supply chain, while the Korea Electronics Show at COEX covers a broader electronics programme. A team visiting both should keep separate exhibitor shortlists and objectives rather than assuming that the same product questions fit both events.

KOD buyer analysis: A productive semiconductor sourcing visit starts with the application and the evidence needed for the next decision. A purchasing team comparing spare parts needs exact references and compatibility information. A team evaluating process equipment needs a clear test case, operating conditions and a route to technical review.

Build a shortlist around the requirement

Use the official 2026 exhibitor directory and floor plan together. Mark priority companies, the product category and the question that would make each meeting worthwhile. Allocate time for both the first discussion and any referral to a technical colleague.

Prepare a short, shareable requirement sheet. Depending on the assignment, it can include the existing model or drawing reference, application, required dimensions, process conditions, quantity, destination market and requested documentation. Separate essential criteria from preferences so suppliers can identify a genuine match or explain the differences.

For a replacement component, bring a readable nameplate photograph and the complete part number. For a new system, describe the process the equipment must support. This gives the exhibitor a practical starting point instead of an open-ended request for a catalogue.

Questions that make the follow-up easier

The following checklist is KOD’s procurement guidance, rather than a claim about what every exhibitor offers:

  • Which exact model, material grade or configuration addresses the requirement?
  • What datasheets, drawings, test information or sample arrangements can the company provide?
  • What is included in the proposed scope, and which accessories, integration work or services are separate?
  • Who handles technical questions, quotations and export communication after the exhibition?
  • What availability and lead time can the supplier confirm in writing for the requested quantity?

Record the named contact, proposed item, documents received and unresolved questions together. When an alternative is suggested, note its differences for the buyer’s technical team to review. A useful meeting outcome is a specific next step: a drawing to exchange, a sample to discuss or a quotation request with a defined scope.

Practical information: admission and exhibition hours

  • Dates: October 14–16, 2026.
  • Venue: COEX, Halls C and D, Seoul.
  • Hours: October 14–15, 10:00–17:00; October 16, 10:00–16:00, Korea Standard Time.
  • Admission: The organizer lists KRW 20,000 for on-site registration. Its free preregistration deadline was October 12.

The official visitor instructions explain badge collection for preregistered visitors, ticket holders and invitation holders. Keep any existing registration confirmation available and check the current organizer instructions before travelling.

After the show, convert notes into a company-by-company follow-up list. Request missing documents and written commercial terms against the same requirement brief. For an unfamiliar supplier, the next stage can include checking its business identity and contact details alongside the product discussion.
